TRUE Mentors, Inc is a 501-3C not-for-profit providing FREE one-on-one, group, and educational mentoring programs to the underserved youth and community volunteers of Hudson County, New Jersey.
TRUE Mentors, Inc was established in 2011 after previous one-on-one mentoring programs failed to align local youth with volunteers in their communities. Our focus on aligning youth with adults that are both accessible and from within their local environment sets us apart from state and national mentoring programs. In addition to our flagship, one-on-one Mentoring Program, our Enrichment Clubs and Homework Helpers have seen tremendous growth over the past decade.
TRUE Mentor’s works with over 100 highly underserved, at-risk youth, the high majority (over 90%) of which come from low-income households. In addition, over 80% of our participants identify as youth of color with a significant portion of First or Second-Generation Americans. Over 20% of the youth we service has documented Independent Education Plans (IEPs) or 504s which denote special learning needs. Our youth are talented, resilient, and amazingly diverse, but they deserve support to excel. That’s where TRUE Mentors comes in!
