About me

Hello! My name is Roxanne and I am a second-year Magazine, News & Digital Journalism Major at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. I have a specialized interest in News writing, which is shown through my contribution as an Assistant News Editor and Assistant Copy Editor at The Daily Orange. I have written over 60 stories at The Daily Orange, including breaking news, investigative stories, features, write-ups, and more.  Prior to college, I was the Senior Chief News Editor for my high school newspaper The Wessex Wire.

I have been involved in the Past Ukrainian Scouting Organization since the age of 5, where I worked my way up to become a troop leader for the younger scouts for 5 total years as well as being involved in a troop of my own until I was 18. I then joined a senior scout troop which I am currently an active member of. Over the summers, I went to Ukrainian camps and now have started working there as a counselor. I also attended Ukrainian Saturday school from Kindergarten until 11th grade.

I also have experience working as a barista at a health food store and volunteered at my local animal shelter. After my undergraduate studies, I aspire to become an Investigative News Reporter.
