Job Description

The Local Girl Media Group is looking for a highly organized, creative, and fast-paced Social Content Producer to support daily social media coverage across our New Jersey brands.

This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes social media, has strong editorial instincts, understands internet culture and trends, and thrives in a fast-moving digital media environment. We’re looking for someone who has their *corporate speak but bear with us*: ~finger on the pulse~ of New Jersey, local happenings, and what people are actually talking about online. You’re someone who loves social, might even love doom scrolling, and knows how to make pretty much anything local relevant and fun.

This is a remote role (but must live in NJ!) with occasional on-site content days in our coverage regions.

Responsibilities:
• Posting and scheduling daily social media content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, and additional platforms as needed
• Managing morning social posting workflows throughout the week
• Posting breaking news and editorial content throughout the day alongside the editorial team
• Creating and posting TikToks, Reels, graphics, memes, and other social-first content
• Assisting with sponsored content posting and campaign deliverables on social media
• Attending team meetings and editorial calls to understand daily coverage priorities and workflows
• Reporting and tracking social analytics daily
• Helping brainstorm creative social activations, meme content, trend opportunities, and audience engagement ideas
• Supporting coverage during major local events, openings, community happenings, and seasonal events
• Occasionally capturing content in Hoboken, Montclair, Bergen County, or additional New Jersey regions

Qualifications:
• Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, and social media trends
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to work quickly and independently in a deadline-driven environment
• Organized, proactive, and highly responsive
• Comfortable juggling multiple brands and priorities at once
• Experience with Canva, CapCut, video editing apps, or Adobe tools preferred
• Complete knowledge of local New Jersey culture, restaurants, events, lore, and community news strongly preferred
• Prior experience in digital media, publishing, social media, journalism, or content creation preferred

This Role Is Great For Someone Who:
• Loves local news, media, pop culture, and internet trends
• Wants hands-on experience in digital publishing and audience growth
• Is excited by a fast-paced startup-style media environment
• Can balance creativity with organization and execution
• Wants to help shape and grow some of New Jersey’s leading local media brands

Compensation:
Compensation is dependent on experience and whether the role is structured part-time or full-time. (FT range $50K-65K dependent on experience)

Role is full-time with benefits, including 401K and health insurance options, along with life insurance, dental/vision.
