Job Description
Otok Bakery is an artisanal bakery based in the heart of Hoboken, NJ. We operate with a 120 year old, 500 sq ft coal oven and we carry on the legacy of the famous Dom’s Bakery that had been there for almost 50 years. Next to baking Frank Sinatra’s favorite breads, we also offer pastries and lunches. We’ve opened our doors in December 2023 and have been growing rapidly. This is why we are looking for members (full-time and part-time) to join our team.
Available Shifts:
- Tuesdays-Fridays: 6:30am – 12:30pm
- Tuesdays-Fridays: 11am-5pm
- Weekends: 7:30am – 2:30pm
Pay:
- $16 per hour + tips
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in the displaying baked goods, including restocking and potentially reheating
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions about products, and taking as well as fulfilling orders
- Handle cash and card transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the area, including equipment, utensils, and displays
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations throughout all bakery operations
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and helping to restock items as needed
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain a positive work environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a coffee shop, bakery or restaurant is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is a plus
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety practices is essential for maintaining quality standards
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members
