Join our growing team at The Local Girl!

We’re currently hiring for a part-time news and features editor.

  • Leading our editorial + social team for monthly content strategies
  • Managing freelancers and assigning content/pitches/reports on a monthly basis
  • Editorial calendar management for The Hoboken Girl + The Montclair Girl
  • Proofing pieces submitted by writers + team
    • — for SEO, readability, style, voice – in tandem with edit team
  • Working in WordPress with team
  • Writing and editing news content as needed/keeping up-to-date with local happenings in coverage areas + finding unique people + features
  • Reporting to Editor-in-Chief + working with Marketing Director to bridge marketing + editorial for teams

Must be:

  • Team player, flexible
  • New Jersey + local content lover
  • Familiar with social trends, google analytics
  • A people person, with an ability to stay focused + organized
  • A grammar and wording whiz
  • Able to work in a virtual team environment using Slack, Asana, Email, Google Meet

Experience preferred in:

  • WordPress
  • Google Suite
  • Writer/Assignment Management
